As living standards improve and awareness of environmental protection grows, people have changed from using conventional fuels such as firewood and coal, which are wasteful and polluting, to using clean energy such as natural gas and gas, or even electricity. This is where the Diaphragm gas meter comes into its own, with its automatic function, those who use natural gas or piped gas can easily know how much gas they have consumed and pay their bills according to the number of cubic meters of gas consumed each month. So, do you know what are the precautions to take with the diaphragm civil gas meter?

Here is the content list:

  • The first five precautions for the use of a Diaphragm gas meter.

  • The last six notes are on the use of the Diaphragm gas meter.

The first five precautions for the use of a Diaphragm gas meter.

Firstly, prevent water from entering the meter body. Gas meters are not waterproof and water entering the meter body can lead to short circuit damage to the electrical components. Secondly, check the batteries regularly. Batteries are used for different periods depending on the power level, so the batteries used should be checked regularly to ensure that they are in good condition and that there is no flow of fluid. Once the battery runs out of liquid, it will lead to corrosion of the spring in the battery compartment, resulting in power consumption, low power, no response from the gas meter, and shut-off of the valve. It is recommended that users check this at least once every two months. If the gas is not used for a long time, the battery should be removed, to prevent the battery from corroding the spring of the battery box and to prevent the gas meter from locking itself. Thirdly, when delivering gas, attention should be paid to the dust-proof leather strips at the inserts. The leather strip is used to prevent oil and smoke or other foreign objects from entering the card reader, resulting in the card reader not working properly. The correct way to use it is to pull the strip away before inserting the card, and then reset the strip after completing the gas transmission according to the correct card insertion method. Fourth, the user must not wrap the gas meter in a relatively airtight space. Many users, for aesthetic reasons, wrap the gas meter directly in a wardrobe or other confined space during renovation, which will become a safety hazard in the future. Fifthly, simple faults with the Diaphragm gas meter cannot be rectified by following the operating instructions in the instruction manual. Users must not inspect the meter with an open flame, knock on it or dismantle any gas equipment.

The last six notes are on the use of the Diaphragm gas meter.

Firstly, if you do not use the gas for a long time, you should close the valve in front of the meter and the valve in front of the stove in time and take out the batteries in the meter to prevent the gas meter from being damaged by battery leakage. Secondly, after each gas purchase, the gas quantity should be entered into the gas meter in time. Thirdly, range hoods and microwave ovens should be kept at a certain distance from the Diaphragm gas meter to prevent damage to the meter due to electromagnetic interference. Fourthly, the diaphragm gas meter with the aluminum case is fitted with a certificate of conformity from the statutory metrological supervision department when it is first installed and should be protected against damage or dislodgement. The seal on the gas meter should not be dismantled or destroyed. If the seal is accidentally damaged, it should be reported to the service station in the district for verification. Fifthly, gas appliances such as gas cookers need to be kept at a horizontal distance of more than 30cm from the gas meter to allow for the safe operation of the meter. Sixth, regularly use soapy waterleakeaks check the gas meter, gas pipe connections, valves, walls, floors, and hoses at home, and report any leaks in time for repair.
